2019 DUOThailand Fellowship Programme

DUO-Thailand Program is sponsored by the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC), Ministry of Education, Thailand with an aim to enhance a mobility of students between Thailand and ASEM member states in Europe on a balanced basis.

The purpose of the programme aims to enhance a balanced mobility of students between Thailand and 30 ASEM member states in Europe by supporting paired-based and two-way exchanges. In this respect, the programme requires that a PAIR (two persons) of students be exchanged in the framework of cooperative project/cooperation between higher education institutions in Thailand and in 30 ASEM Member states in Europe.

Application material: 2019 Duo-Thailand

Application must be submitted through International Affairs Office of KMUTT only.

Note: If student application meets the requirements, the applicant will be called for an interview.

 

How to apply:

  1.  Fill in KMUTT Outbound Exchange Application Form and/ or other required documents.
  2. Consult your advisor about course registration. This is to make sure that the credits taken at the partner institutions can be accepted and transferred back to KMUTT.
  3. Submit KMUTT Outbound Exchange Application Form, along with other required documents to your department.
  4. Your department will screen out and submit the application package to KMUTT International Affairs Office
  5. IA will select, interview and nominate successful candidates to the partner institutions for their final consideration.
  6. IA will announce the result to the department and students.
  7. If accepted, students have to re-consult with their advisor on registration, while feel free to discuss on immigration and other administrative matters with IA.

Period of activities: on 5-15 Dec 2018

Activities: attend the Global Project Based Learning (gPBL) program with international students. (More information: 2018 PBL flyer GEN)

Accommodation: Hotel Metropolitan Saitama-Shintoshin, Hotel Sunvalley Nasu

Scholarship: 80,000 Yen *Scholarship will be provided by the screening result.

Expenses: about 125,000 Yen

Qualification:

  • Be full-time KMUTT student
  • GPA ≥ 2.75
  • Studying in the 3rd year of bachelor degree or master degree
  • Good proficiency in English communication
  • Able to work in international team/environment
  • Be responsible & punctual
  • Have joined the university activities.  The international activities organized by International Affairs Office (IA) will be specially considered.

Accepting number of participants:  10 students

– Essay in one A4 page using A4 paper.  The topic is “Why should you be selected to join the gPBL Program?” in maximum 300 words.

A Semester Exchange at TUAT (AIMS), Japan

Place:   Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Tokyo, Japan

Period: September – December 2018

Courses split into 3 phases:

1. Preparatory Courses (September 2018)

3-week programme to learn about Japanese industries, technologies, culture, and society.

2. Specialized Courses and Research Internship (October to December 2018)

Specialized courses are available from the seven departments and an opportunity to do a research internship in connection with the student’s specialization.

3. Engineering Industrial Training (December 2018 to January 2019)

Only available for students staying until the end of January.

Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science: SAKURA Exchange Program in Science is the program for enhancing exchanges between Asia and Japan of the youths who will play a crucial role in the future field of science and technology through the close collaboration of industry-academia-government by facilitating short-term visits of competent Asian youths to Japan. This program aims at raising the interest of Asian youths toward the leading Japanese science and technologies at Japanese universities, research institutions and private companies.

Scholarship: KMUTT students will be exempted from paying the
