Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT), Japan visited the School of Information Technology (SIT), KMUTT
On February 16, 2018. Prof. Masahiro Inoue (Dept. of Electronic Information Systems College of Systems Engineering and Science), Prof. Atsuko K. Yamazaki (Graduate School of Engineering & Science College of Engineering, School of Arts and Sciences English Communication Department) and Prof. Kazunori MANO (Dept. of Electronic Information Systems College of Systems Engineering and Science) from Shibaura Institute of Technology visited SIT-KMUTT.

They were welcomed by Prof.Dr. Nipon Charoenkitkarn, Dean of the School of Information Technology and Prof.Dr. Jonathan Hoyin Chan, Associate Dean for International Relations, In this visiting they discussion about Research collaboration, Exchange program, and Internship.

Discussion about The JASSO scholarship from The The University of Aizu and the Future collaboration about faculty exchanges and short-term student exchanges between the University of Aizu and KMUTT on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Meeting room 3/1,  SIT Building.

An ASEAN International Development Manager University College Cork (UCC), Ireland had a visit to King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT)

Dr Long Pham ASEAN International Development Manager University College Cork (UCC) , Ireland had a visit to King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT). The purpose of Dr. Long Pham’s visit is:

 

  1. Meeting With KMUTT to get to know about Environmental Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and, Chemical Engineering programs, their aspiration for joined training programs, and other possible collaborations centered by students’ interests and benefits.
  1. Meeting with School of Information Technology (SIT), KMUTT for regarding the CS international study program for joined training options, discuss options for short training programs in IT and digital skills.
  2. Having a short tour in KMUTT Bangmod Campus

APNNS Advanced Forum Series: Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence (DLAI) Winter School 2018: conducted from the 1st – 4th February 2018, at KMUTT, Bangkok, Thailand.

From the 1st – 4th February 2018, the School of Information Technology, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi were proud to host an academic seminar titled “The Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence (DLAI) Winter School 2018”.The forum was initiated by Prof. Dr. Jonathan Hoyin Chan, Associate Dean for International Relations in collaboration with many international organizations, such as the Asia Pacific Neural Network Society (APNNS), IEEE-CIS Thailand Chapter, INNS Thailand Chapter, The Council of IT Deans of Thailand (CITT), Deep Genomics, and Krungthai Bank PCL.

This seminar offered an opportunity for students, faculty members, KMUTT researchers, and other institutions to exchange knowledge on various information technology topics, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. These concepts and principles are currently gaining much attention and can be applied to various fields.

The speakers who participated in this event were experts and experienced in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Deep Learning: Professor Soo Young Lee from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Professor Nikola Kasabov from the Auckland University of Technology, Professor Irwin King from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Simon Fong from the Macau University, Professor Sung-Bae Cho from the Yonsei University Department of Computer Science, and Professor Weng-Kin Lai from JSCI Malaysia. In addition IBM Thailand and Asst.Prof. Dr. Kriengkrai Porkaew from the School of Information Technology, KMUTT conducted a workshop on “IBM Power AI” and “NoSQL”, respectively.
